Flags: Milton Keynes 7 – 12 Welwyn 2’s

The first competitive game for Milton Keynes saw the visit of Welwyn’s second team, from the division above, to play in the Flags Round 1 (cup).

Whilst Welwyn came out winners, thanks mainly to their strong 1st quarter, the day was a roaring success for MK. The astro field at Stantonbury is ideal for lacrosse and the staff from Buskers put on some good post-game food in the Stantonbury bar.

The 15-man MK squad included 3 playing their first every game (Ben, Jonny and Ollie) and 5 players who’ve only played one previous full-field game, the friendly vs Uni of Chester (Aaron, Sam, Simon, Brett and Kyle). Everyone got plenty of game time and we gave Welwyn a good test. There’s not much to work on now in training to turn this opening performance into future victories.
