Equality Vision Statement

Purpose of the Equality Policy

  • To prevent and tackle potential or current discrimination or unfair treatment against EL employees, members, or volunteers.
  • To ensure that all lacrosse activity has equality embedded at its core.

Policy Statements

  • Ensure open access to all services, free from discrimination.
  • Select, recruit, promote, and train personnel based on merit and ability.
  • Provide guidance to affiliated clubs and individuals on equality.
  • Recognize legal obligations under various acts (Equality Act, Gender Recognition Act, etc.).
  • Monitor and evaluate the policy, practices, and procedures on an ongoing basis.

Discrimination, Harassment, and Victimisation

  • Direct and indirect discrimination, harassment, and victimization are not tolerated.
  • Decisions will be made based on relevant personal characteristics, consistent with legislation.
  • EL is committed to ensuring a harassment-free environment.

Disciplinary Action

  • EL reserves the right to discipline employees, members, or volunteers who practice discrimination, harassment, or victimization.

Organisational Responsibilities

  • The CEO has overall responsibility for implementing the policy, supported by the EL Inclusion lead.
  • The policy will be communicated to all staff, members, and volunteers through various channels.

Review of the Equality Policy

  • EL will review the policy annually and make recommendations at the Annual General Meeting.
  • A consultative group will be formed to advise and review the policy and implementation plan on a regular basis.
