Summer Evening Training

summerGiven the recent weather, we’re all hoping summer has come early (and will remain) to Milton Keynes. Now we have evening daylight, our £free midweek summer training can restart and run through until late August 2017.

The venue is the grass playing fields in Shenley Brook End. Here is the address and a map link.

Garthwaite Crescent, Shenley Brook End, MK5 7AX (map)

Training will start from 6:30pm on Wednesday’s and club coach Rob Gooch will be there most weeks, with all the club men’s equipment and our goals. We’ll plan each session depending on numbers and the boy/girl split. An ideal scenario with an equal boy/girl mix will be a warm-up followed by drills to perfect the lacrosse basic of throwing, catching and running with the ball. It would be great to then play a series of quick 5-10 minute games, for example 6 or 8-a-side, alternating between a girls game and a boys game. Between games you can throw around, enjoy the evening sunshine or just sit down and have a chat.

Our suggested minimum age is 12 years but younger players are welcome to join us provided they are comfortable playing with older people. There is no maximum age. If you can still hold a lacrosse stick then you’d be welcome to come join us.
