Three league games remaining for MK to push for 3rd spot in East Div 2

The SEMLA league season runs from October to early April. Milton Keynes has three league games left, are currently sitting 4th in East Division Two and whilst grabbing promotion (top 2) is out of reach, a strong finish could see us finish 3rd in our first season in Div 2 and only 2nd season in the SEMLA league. Three teams are battling for 3rd spot, Welwyn Warriors 2’s, East Grinstead A and Milton Keynes. East Grinstead have a game in hand, so even with losing points would jump ahead of MK into 4th spot. However a strong finish could see MK conclude the season on a high. It’s also Welwyn vs EG this Saturday so one of those teams will drop points.

This Saturday the team travel to Oxford. The likely squad is not the strongest with a few key players unavailable so this could be a close game but still highly winnable.

MK has a free weekend on the 11th March after getting knocked out of the Flags (cup) by Welwyn 2’s.

The final two games are likely to be challenging, but that’s how we like it.

On the 18th March we are due to visit London University. They have had Saturday pitch availability issues so they may ask us to host the game. Regardless of location, the London University team is high quality. Their league results mean nothing as they were unable to play many of their games earlier in the season. They have been strong throughout the University BUCS season, have won their way to the East Flags Minor Final where they play Welwyn 2’s on 11th March, and thrashed Spencer 3’s 18-8 last weekend. We hear their team is stacked with quality Americans so we can’t wait for that challenge.

Table-topping Epsom visit MK on 25th March, and if still unbeaten will want to complete a perfect league season. We only lost by 2 goals earlier in the season. If our key players are available for this game we’d be confident we can grab the win and spoil their party.

Finally the club are always looking for new players, aged 15 or above. Beginners very welcome. We have club equipment ready to be used. Come find us, try lacrosse. You’ll love it.
