Winter 2014 Training Programme
Our lacrosse training programmes restarts on Sunday 12th January, with training each Sunday up to and including Sunday 20th April.
UPDATE: Due to the recent wet weather we are moving all scheduled afternoon grass sessions to evening astro sessions. Due to the additional cost of hiring extra astro pitch bookings we need to charge £4pp.
The astro pitches at Shenley Leisure Centre are ideal for lacrosse; just the right size and solid wooden side board so stray balls never go far and the elements of box/indoor lacrosse can be introduced when appropriate. Changing rooms are available for the Shenley Leisure Centre sessions but most players arrive ready to go.
Once the rain stops and the grass dries, we still may run some Sunday afternoon sessions, 2-3pm, on Shenley Church End park – but until further notice, all sessions have been moved to evening astro pitch sessions.
Training sessions are open to all – beginners through to seasoned campaigners, men and women, boys and girls. Coaching will be led by club coach, Rob Gooch, assisted from others linked to the club as required. Mens and womens lacrosse sticks will be available for beginners to borrow.
For beginners, the first two sessions are free.
Most sessions will be played as ‘mixed lacrosse’ with players only needing a lacrosse stick. Where numbers permit, or where the group is male only, we’ll play men’s lacrosse, subject to having enough helmets and gloves. Anyone new to lacrosse coming from an ice hockey background, you can use your full face hockey helmet and hockey gloves for lacrosse.

Both venues are located in Shenley Church End. Park for the Shenley Leisure Centre is right outside their two astro pitches. Plenty of parking is available at the end of Aldwycks Close, right next to the park.
