North Vets 9 – 6 South Vets

The first competitive lacrosse game hosted by us at the Woughton Pavilion saw players, of a certain age (over 35’s), travel up from across the South and down from the Manchester area to play the first ever North vs South veterans game.

The North came out winners, 9-6, and proved old men can still run (jog) around a lacrosse pitch. Many of those who played are still regular players for their club sides, albeit many no longer playing in the top divisions of the North or South league.

Feedback following the game was very positive, especially on the facilities and post-game food provided by the staff at the Pavilion. The respective North and South veterans coordinators are both keen arrange another game, hopefully again hosted by us, as part of the preparations for the age-group tournament at the 2014 FIL World Championships in Denver next July.
