Lacrosse in Buckingham, Sunday 19th July, 6:00-7:30pm
Our Sunday lacrosse sessions at Furzton Lake now pause until Sunday 16th August, but there’s lacrosse in Buckingham this Sunday for those who have now got the bug.
The Buckingham Young Farmers, a group of 16-25 year olds, have been running field hockey and lacrosse on Sunday evenings, 6:00-7:30pm at the Swan Pool Leisure Centre for a few months now. This Sunday it’s going to be a lacrosse session and they would welcome any MK players who would like to join them. They have a few spare men’s and women’s sticks that can be borrowed for those without. As it’s a hired astro pitch next to the leisure centre, there is a £5pp cost.
Their lacrosse coach is Helen Fryer who is also taking lacrosse to some of the local Buckingham schools. We are going to work closely with Helen to co-ordinate training sessions, so they do not clash, so that players have the opportunity to attend training both in Milton Keynes and Buckingham. We will welcome any of the men from the Buckingham Young Farmers group to join us for Saturday SEMLA league games. For the women, by joining forces, we should have enough players to form a women’s team and target competitive games like the Kiddle Cup in the Autumn.
