League: Royal Holloway College 6 – 10 Milton Keynes
MK came out victorious 10-6 after a trip to Surrey to play the students of Royal Holloway College.
The game was tight for long periods with the Holloway team more than capable of moving the ball around and making offensive plays. Their stand-out best player, a Canadian, needed close attention so we put our overseas best player, Norwegian student, Carl-Peter (#14), on the case to snuff out his threat – and it worked.
In the MK attack, Richard Euerby (#15) was on fire, scoring at will during the first half and racking up 7 goals in total.
Everyone played well today, but a special shout goes to goalie Nathan Villers (#1) for another solid performance between the pipes.
In the fourth quarter, relative novice, Ben Amos (#23) (playing his first season of lacrosse) took over the “Canadian watch” duties and played fantastic as MK held onto the lead to close out the game and remain on course for promotion up to East Division Two for next season.
